Summer Job

So today i got an email telling me that i did not make the second round of Summer Orientation Staff (SOS) cuts. So i will not be an SOSer this summer :(. (hehehehe it looks like my emoticon has a mole) I am going to be looking for jobs, so if any yall see something interesting (well, naomi since she's the only one following this right now) please let me know so i can possibly get some money for next year

Chinese Mythology and Paper Burning and Stuff like that, or how i decided to bite the bullet and write

So we had to choose topics to write about for our second paper last week. I chose Chinese mythology and symbolism and how Kingston (the author) utilizes them to further her stories and explain her sense of identity. now i'm having trouble narrowing this topic down to a five page worthy thesis, so i decided just to write and see what comes out of it. hopefully it won't be too long.

so, yeah.... for some reason the physical plant people are working on our showers and won't let us take showers cause they're soldering something, so i smell like a dying pig stuck in a used shoe right now, this sucks.

and i'm hungry, i think i'll make some potatoes and try to write some more

Nothing to do

So if you hadn't guessed, it's fall break here in Louisville. This means that everyone leaves and those that stay, sleep all day long. because I didn't go home, I slept. This is apparently a problem... especially when i turn my phone off. so EJ called from the forestry department of Kentucky.

For those of you who don't know, I'm a trained wildland firefighter. good job, great pay... the only problem is i have real experience so no one will hire me. Because of this I am on the emergency call list for the state of Kentucky. so EJ was calling to make sure that i still wanted to be on the list, this is when they revise their lists. Since my phone was off, i didn't get her call. so she called my second line... Home.

so she called my mother. who then started to freakout because she didn't know where is was. i eventually called back at 5:00pm, when i eventually woke up. mom wasn't overly happy.
